چکیده

The simulation of communication networks using a continuous-state, or fluid modeling approach, has shown to be very efficient for a wide range of performance evaluation scenarios. In this paper we present a fluid model of the RED active queue management algorithm for FluidSim, a simulation tool based on the fluid paradigm. We compare the behavior and efficiency of our model against the results provided by NS, a well known packet-based network simulator. The proposed model does capture RED’s characteristics with acceptable precision providing good accelerations in typical network evaluation configurations. FluNet: A Hybrid Internet Simulation/Emulation Environment for a Fast Queue Regime∗

Motivated by the scale and complexity of simulating large-scale networks, recent research has focused on hybrid fluid/packet simulators, where fluid models are combined with packet models in order to reduce simulation complexity. However, these simulators still need to track the queuing dynamics of network routers, which generate considerable simulation time-complexity in a large-scale network ...

An Improvement over Random Early Detection Algorithm: A Self-Tuning Approach

Random Early Detection (RED) is one of the most commonly used Active Queue Management (AQM) algorithms that is recommended by IETF for deployment in the network. Although RED provides low average queuing delay and high throughput at the same time, but effectiveness of RED is highly sensitive to the RED parameters setting. As network condition varies largely, setting RED's parameters with fixed ...

Prediction of Bubble Point Pressure & Asphaltene Onset Pressure During CO2 Injection Using ANN & ANFIS Models

Although CO2 injection is one of the most common methods in enhanced oil recovery, it could alter fluid properties of oil and cause some problems such as asphaltene precipitation. The maximum amount of asphaltene precipitation occurs near the fluid pressure and concentration saturation. According to the description of asphaltene deposition onset, the bubble point pressure has a very special imp...

Fluid Injection Optimization Using Modified Global Dynamic Harmony Search

One of the mostly used enhanced oil recovery methods is the injection of water or gas under pressure to maintain or reverse the declining pressure in a reservoir. Several parameters should be optimized in a fluid injection process. The usual optimizing methods evaluate several scenarios to find the best solution. Since it is required to run the reservoir simulator hundreds of times, the process...
